Key steps to success in your self-development

Brain Biscuits Coaching, key steps to success in your self-development!

1, Have self-awareness – The only thing stopping you is you! Clear your mind of all the mind chatter you have and any limiting beliefs that are holding you back! Get rid of as many of them (limiting beliefs) as you can. Find out what motivates you! Channel your empowering beliefs.

2, Do something challenging – Allow new opportunities, say “yes” to more things. Whenever possible just try things that you were once fearful of and instead of panicking, enjoy being stretched. Push the barriers of your comfort zone, stretch yourself, use all your skill set and qualities/attributes. Remember to “seize the day! Set goals and make things happen.

3, Do something different- How do you know you don’t like something if you haven’t tried it. Have a go, try new activities, meet new people, be inspired.

4, Be determined – Determination is key, give it your all as this will keep you going when life throws a few curve balls. Determination is what will keep you on track, you only fail if you don’t get back up!

5, Visualise it – see it happening, seeing is believing.

6, Knowledge really is power – read more, learn more, develop new skills, ask questions, find answers enjoy fuelling your mind. Make space to do this!

7, Imagine it – imagine yourself already where you want to be, how great that will feel and how would this enhance your life.

8, Be Creative – use all the creativity you have to create what you want, make it happen!

9, Don’t forget to Pause- take a moment, see all that is around you, use these moments to look for inspiration

10, Breathe- take a minute, try square breathing, it is a great start for you to re-centre and clear your mind.

11, Make Space and Time- Time for what makes you happy is worth scheduling into your day, positivity feeds off positivity. The right environment is also key, as it can bring out the best in you and fuel your senses for peak performance.

Don’t forget your moment to “Pause”

seaport during daytime

It’s a great idea to just take a moment!

A “pause moment” so you can see all the beautiful things around you.

Our lives can very often be lived at 100 miles an hour and moments can be missed.

We recommend whenever you can to make time to just connect to the world around you
(your pause moment).

This moment “your pause” is so you don’t miss the wonderful things life offers you for free daily, such as nature.  All these things help inspire you and give you sensory feedback and fuel your Neuro-linguistic programming   – what you see, hear and feel etc.

These moments, when enjoyed fully really do remind us that “the best things in life are free” and make us truly feel alive.

The key is to learn how to ensure you don’t miss it, from the flowers, trees to the sky and all the visual variations it has!   Make this time frequently (daily) for your “pause” allowing you the time to take in all that is there for you to enjoy and could really inspire you.

An exercise to start with;

Tomorrow start with your garden (and then you could widen this to the local park, the nearest beach, forest or route into work) and make a mental log of all the things you see around you and how they make you feel?  What sounds did you hear, did you have a favourite part to this moment?  Then enjoy this visual menu, maybe event capture it with a photo.

Here’s one of my most recent favourite pause moments:

Don’t forget to look to the sky as there really are no limits!  While you are there why not reach for a star or two!

Breathing techniques and mindful ness, Visuals for goals results and motivation

Square breathing exercise for better mindfulness.

Square breathing is a simple, easy, and effective way to calm yourself and clear your mind. This is a great thing to do ahead of any coaching activity and goal setting.

Square breathing can be practiced anytime, anywhere it is just four simple breath segments done to a count of four. this is an effective mindfulness exercise.

  1. Inhale 2 3 4
  2. Hold 2 3 4
  3. Exhale 2 3 4
  4. Pause 2 3 4

Focusing on the breath and the count of four, repeat the same process until you reach a relaxed state. enjoy!
